Westmoreland Library Network Member

Youngwood Area Public Library has joined with 20 other libraries in Westmoreland County to create the Westmoreland Library Network(WLN). As a result of the WLN project, you have access to materials from participating libraries through one on-line Catalog. You can search, place requests, have items sent to a library of your choosing, and keep a reading list.

Anyone can search our catalog on-line. The more advanced patron features mentioned above require a library card number and password. If you have one of our library cards, you will receive a new WLN library card (like the one shown to the right) on your next visit to the library. You can use your current library card for the on-line catalog until then. If you don't have a library card, see the librarian.

The Westmoreland Library Network is the result of a special project funded by Westmoreland Now and Forever Fund of the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, the Richard King Mellon Foundation and a grant through Library Services and Technology Act of Pennsylvania.

POWER Library

Using your Youngwood Area library card, the Access PA POWER Library allows you to access thousands of full text, periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, maps, a world almanac, the Associated Press photo archive, and several other references oriented towards school students. There is something here for everyone -- from children to adults!

You can perform the same kinds of searches on the Web Catalog as you do from the catalog search workstations in the Library. You can even see the status of your selection.
